We aim to break down barriers, debunk myths and show we’re a business open to everyone.

Inspire is our UK-wide outreach programme, engaging with 30,000 students, from five year-olds to young adults, every year. We also partner with local charities and SEN schools to raise young people’s aspirations and help them achieve these through career-based learning. From projects and curriculum takeovers, to a Virtual Work Experience platform, sustainability sessions, mock interviews and help with writing CVs, we aim to inspire students to live sustainably and consider a future in automotive.

Our cultural diversity group engages colleagues through a range of initiatives. These include reverse mentoring, where members of the group mentor senior leaders, and supporting teams to have open discussions on key topics such as unconscious bias. Group members also offer dedicated training, and by sharing their own unique experiences and organising a variety of cultural events, the group aims to create a truly inclusive and progressive workplace.

We empower and support parents and carers to feel successful and fulfilled, both at home and work.

Our network for parents and carers enables members to discuss their daily challenges, share tips and advice, and offer a helping hand to colleagues. It’s about creating events and changing policy to be more aware of the challenges parents and carers face – even if that involves tough conversations. By providing mutual encouragement and support, and seeking expertise from external resources, the network strengthens the bonds between all colleagues and creates a true family of families.

Creating an inclusive and open safe space for LGBTQ+ colleagues.

We Drive Proud strives to create a culture of support and inclusion where everyone can feel safe and accepted for who they are. The network enables people to share thoughts and ideas, learn more about LGBTQ+ issues, or just have a chat. It also feeds ideas to drive inclusive policy change and supports Volkswagen Group UK in organising truly inclusive and educational events, for example through our sponsorship of the Milton Keynes Pride Festival. No matter where you fall on the LGBTQ+ spectrum, you’ll find a community here that accepts and welcomes you.

Creating a culture where people with disabilities or who are neuro-divergent can thrive.

We Enable is our network committed to creating a welcoming, accessible, and supportive environment for disabled and neurodivergent people – and those who care for them. From awareness initiatives on autism and ADHD to increasing accessibility, the network has enabled Volkswagen Group UK to achieve Disability Confident Level 1 accreditation. By encouraging colleagues to listen and learn from each other, it’s helping to create a culture where you’ll feel supported in bringing your whole self to work.

A supportive network for women in their personal and professional lives.

This network aims to empower all women at Volkswagen Group UK to achieve their full potential, and to promote gender balance across the business, particularly at a senior level. This includes organising a variety of events and workshops and developing peer-to-peer advocacy and allyship at all levels. By identifying best practice, sharing insights and driving change, the network strives to deliver the tools to help women succeed and enhance the female employee experience.
