Our hiring process should take around 8 weeks from start to finish, depending on role. Throughout the process, the Talent Attraction team will keep you regularly updated on your progress.
Before you apply, take some time to prepare. For example, research the Volkswagen Group so you understand our values. Think about the specific skills and qualities we’re looking for, and how you’ve demonstrated them in the past. Make sure your CV’s up to date and tailor it to the role you’re applying for. Most important, make sure you apply before the deadline.
While we've tried to answer all the questions that you may have about working at Volkswagen Group UK, we're sure to have missed a couple. So here are a few answers to the most common questions that our Talent Attraction Team are asked. And remember if the answer isn't here you can always contact the team.
How long will the application process take?
If your CV’s already up to date, the application process should only take 10 minutes to complete. We aim to contact you within 2 weeks of the closing date to let you know if you’ve progressed to the next stage.
How do I know if I’ve been successful after an interview?
If you’ve attended an interview with us, we’ll always tell you the outcome. If you’re successful, we’ll talk you through the offer details and if not, we’ll always make sure you receive detailed feedback.
Can I apply for more than one vacancy?
There’s no limit to the number of vacancies that you can apply for. All we ask is that you choose the vacancies that are most suited to your skills and experience.
How can I stay updated on new job opportunities?
You can register for job alerts by clicking on ‘join us’ in the main menu and clicking on ‘register for job alerts’ and we’ll let you know when we advertise a new vacancy. You can easily turn these notifications off at any time too.
What is the hybrid working policy?
We want all our people to thrive, so we recognise the importance of flexible working. That’s why we’ve created an environment that allows positive collaboration, whether you’re working in the office or online from home. Our agile working model means you can work a minimum of 60% of your time in one of our offices or business sites and spend the rest of your time, working from home.
Does the Volkswagen Group UK offer visa sponsorship?
We can only sponsor visas for current employees outside the UK to join us for roles that require specialist skills that may be difficult to find in the UK. If we may be able to consider visa sponsorship for a particular role, we’ll include this in our advert.
What can I expect from the interview process?
Typically, we have a one stage interview process. This includes discussing your motivation, experiences and skills along with cultural behaviour questions and a role-related task and/or presentation. However, we see the process as a two way conversation that allows you to get to know more about the company, team and the role.
Where can I find more help and advice?
We recommend that you visit the National Career Service website. It is a useful resource that offers careers information, advice and guidance.
I started my career with the Group as an HR Business Partner back in 2016 and then moved into the Head of Reward and Talent Attraction role in 2022. My role heads up the Reward, Benefit and People Data team and the Talent Attraction Team. The best thing about working here is the personal development and career advancement. For example, there's plenty of opportunity to get involved in projects, work with sister companies, or undertake new roles within the Group.
